My unforgotable incident..

This is my most unforgottable incident.
I and my family members went on a religious tour to Rameswaram. It was on December 2006. And that too was exactly a day before tsunami. We were staying there for the time period.
The first day was the visit to Rameswaram temple. The temple was really were nice to see and I am sure it is a very religious place. The next day was our plan to visit Dhanushkodi.
We went there by train through Pamban bridge. It was really very attractive to see great water running peacefully under the bridge. I was standing at the door and watching the water flowing beneath. It was around 10.30am when wefinished our visit to the temple at Dhanuskodi and we went to the sea shore. We were wondering at the graceful water running peacefully. My mom wondered that the water is very clear and we were standing inside water longing to have a play. But we had planned for a trip to a place near Rameswaran. So dad didnt let me inside the water. So we hurried back to Rameswaram, this time by bus. The sight of the clear water still remains in my mind.
We returned back to the lodge where we were staying by 12.30 in afternoon. We were travelling by an auto. The auto driver was having a heated argument on something..about a storm or something. My dad got curious and enquired the auto driver. He said nearly many parts of Nagapatnam are destroyed by a sea attack, which had not been known as tsunami by then.
My dad didnt own a mobile by then. And the place where is stayed is completely an out of world place. We had no newspapers, no TV, no communication links. When we returned back to the boarding house my dad hurried off to buy a copy of the evening newspaper. We were having a look at the headlines and the stuff related to that incident.
It was said on the newspaper that this attack happened around 10.30am that day.Imagine the shock we had, because that was the time we were standing inside the water and enjoying its look and glamour. We started querying our mom, what happened to our house. There was no mention of other parts of Tamil Nadu.
Later we were travelling by my dad's office jeep, Kodai FM was broadcasting sad songs and the organiser was talking about these sort of incidents that happened in the past.
The next day we returned home, actually there was no attack at our home. We were happy on being safe, inspite of being actually on the shore of the sea at that time.

My mom said, "Maybe god has some other plans for us" .

Demise of my favourite teacher...Home they brought her warrior dead...

I learnt this poem at my fifth grade..I still remember each and every line of this poem.It was taught by my favourite English teacher..She taught this poem exceptionally beautiful that I still remember this poem..Each and every line was a melody in her teaching..I just started loving english because of her..I met her once when I got to my 12th grade.I wished to tell her that I started loving english because of her.At the surprise of seeing her after a very long time, I didnt even get words to speak to hear.

Oneday, I heard the news of her demise, I was greatly shocked,I was at home..and there was the news of her demise on a channel with her photo..I could help myself control my tears..tears swelled up in my eyes. And she really was so young to have died earlier.I thought this might be a bad dream, but it was true.

I didnt go to her funeral..I was feeling bad about facing like as if I was still at my fifth grade waiting for her to punish me for something.I didnt have the guts to face her.I couldnt bring myself believe that she is dead..

She lived in a street next to ours.I happened to be going around there.I visited her sisters, asked them what exactly happened. They told me she died of a heart attack.I was unable to hide back tears at seeing their tear drenched faces.I tried to fight back tears, I was unable to help,so I returned home as fast as I could and cried to myself alone..thinking about her,her way of doing things, her mannerism..

To me, she was a perfect example of a teacher, for she and only she knows to handle kids..

Home they brought her warrior dead

Home they brought her warrior dead:
She nor swooned, nor uttered cry:
All her maidens, watching, said,
‘She must weep or she will die.’

Then they praised him, soft and low,
Called him worthy to be loved,
Truest friend and noblest foe;
Yet she neither spoke nor moved.

Stole a maiden from her place,
Lightly to the warrior stepped,
Took the face-cloth from the face;
Yet she neither moved nor wept.

Rose a nurse of ninety years,
Set his child upon her knee—
Like summer tempest came her tears—
‘Sweet my child, I live for thee.’

                    --Alfred Lord Tennyson

Home they brought her warrior dead..Really, she had been a warrior and that too a very brave warrior in her life..for she had many problems to endure with.Yet, she was a very cheery person..

I pay my tribute to her with my English..I love English because of my love for her!!

A beautiful dream....

I like this song very much..It depicts a beautiful dream, many of us would have surely missed these scenes of nature. Really very beautiful lines on nature..

The Road Not Taken- A Poem

   The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
The poet- Frost, Robert expresses his dilemma on choosing his career. He took to poetry..But he wishes he could have taken some other profession..Two roads diverged in a yellow wood..He claims, the paths which lay in front of him were both not traveled more..and thats were his confusion lay. He could have taken a less traveled path if one was traveled by more people. Nice poem.Poem says:'A man should not regret after choosing a career.

German

I m learning German as a part of my curriculum. Its an interesting language. Some words look the same like they appear in English but they differ in pronunciation. Here is the a,b,c,d in German. And German is called as DEUTSCH (pronounced as : doy-tsch) in German! All our names, of course, will sound very different if we try it in Deutsch!

 a ah j yoht s ess
 b bay k kah t tay
 c tsay l el u oo
 d day m em v fow
 e ay n en w vay
 f eff o oh x eeks
 g gay p pay y irp-se-lon
 h hah q koo z tset
 i ee r ehr
There is another letter in written German, ß (es-zet), pronounced like [s]. However, this letter is only used after long vowels or diphthongs, and it is not used at all in Switzerland.

All nouns take genders in Deutsch. For example, Coffee and tea take masculine genders, water is neutral. Dog is masculine whereas cat is Feminine. All days, months and seasons are masculine.

Evolution of Microsoft Windows: 1985 – 2009

Evolution Of Microsoft in steps!!!

Windows has really had a very great time.Still developing and is helping develop technology. Here is what I call as the history of Windows..

evolution of ms windows

It all began in Plaza Hotel, New York City on the 10th of November 1983. Two Microsoft founders Paul Allen and Bill Gates officially announced their corporation's first and next-generation graphical user interface operating system – Microsoft Windows.

Despite the criticism on stability and constantly being compared to their rivals Apple Macintosh, Microsoft Windows is still the most widely used operating systems in the world.

Windows 1.01 (1985)

Officially released on November 20, 1985, this 16-bit OS that cost less than 1MB in overall is Microsoft's very first operating system that allows multi tasking with graphical user interface on PC platform that runs on MS-DOS 5.0.

Windows 2.03 (1987)

Taking advantage of the speed of Intel 286/386 processor at that time, Windows 2.03 is a replacement for Windows 1.x. It also starts the era where users are able to overlap windows, customize screens, etc. Still the entire operating system cost no more than 2.5Mb.

Sixth Sense..a new amazing technology..

The movie 'Minority Report' depicts Tom Cruise - John Anderten using gestures to explore a particular piece of data.
The work by Pranav Mistry, of MIT media labs, is almost like the same, Sixth sense, an amazing new technology for those who wish to live like John Anderton, just making gestures to get things done. The system actually involves a pocket projector, a mirror and a camera. And all these coupled in a pendant like mobile device. The system works by tracking the users hand movements with colored markers at its tip. Sounds amazing. We can do what all we like to do. Taking photographs, reviewing it, checking email and the list goes on.
What if this sixth sense is sold out to public!
The result can be anything.

What is going to be the future? Where is technology leading us to?

My favourite lines..

From The Gita.

paritranaya sadhunam
vinasaya ca duskritam
dharma-samsthapanarthaya
sambhavami yuge yuge

I will appear to save the good, destroy the evil and to save the dharma..
